Our Brick Workshop includes individual bays and an outdoor builder’s yard, giving you space to practise your techniques using professional tools.

Carpentry students use specialist benches and industry-standard equipment to complete a range of woodworking tasks, from basic joints to more complex builds. 

Take part in skills competitions

You can take part in national and international competitions to showcase your newfound skills. We consistently offer high standards in the KFE4Skills Competitions.

Alongside your course you will have the opportunity to work with key employers in the construction industry, including Knauf, a global Construction company based in Sittingbourne.

You’ll get to experience challenges, including mudding and tapering plasterboard joints, and insights into industry-leaders.

Our Industry Liaison Officer will help connect you to meaningful work placements that will give you the confidence to enter the construction and built environment industry.

Learn from the professionals

All our lecturers have extensive experience in the construction and built environment industry. Whichever trade you choose to study, you will learn from an expert who can pass on industry knowledge and give you practical advice for your future career.

Daniel Irwin, Programme Director for Construction, has been in the industry since the age of 16 and now shares his expertise with our students. Having worked locally and started as an apprentice, Daniel knows what it takes to succeed.
