There are many different trades to choose from within the Construction industry which all require different skills and knowledge, including:

Are there roles in the industry that aren’t trade-based?
Yes, there are a range of job roles that you can enter the industry with that aren’t trade-based. These include Project Managers, Surveyors, Health & Safety Officers, Site Managers and Architects to name just a few. Our Computing courses for example will help you learn transferrable skills that you can use in administrative roles in construction.
How do I choose the right pathway for me?
We know it can be difficult to decide which career you want, that’s why at Sheppey College, we offer a Multi Trade course which includes aspects of all trades and health and safety. Giving you a sample of each trade will allow you to see which you prefer and want to pursue further. Our Level 1 Progression programme also allows you to try a hand at every single course we offer, meaning that you can gain an insight into the roles that you may want to progress into and work towards.
