Results Day has arrived for our Level 2 and GCSE students and with it came some great success stories and progression routes. Some of those who passed today shared where they were going next and what they have achieved through studying at EKC Sheppey College.
Lawrence, English GCSE
Joining EKC Sheppey College has led to Lawrence achieving a 5 in his English GCSE, giving him a platform to take his next steps into starting a career in teaching. He was overjoyed at the result, saying “I am surprised and shocked that I got a 5 – it is fantastic.”
He also credited our team with pushing him further and getting him the grade he wanted, saying “I don’t think I would have got such high results if I had gone anywhere else, due to the dedication of the staff.”
Dylan, English GCSE
Dylan was so happy to have passed his English today, with a Grade 4. In September he will be continuing his Computing course here at EKC Sheppey College. A relieved Dylan said: “I’m so happy – I never have to worry about English again!”
Jess, English GCSE
Jess has passed her English with a Grade 4 and was delighted to achieve this result. She can’t wait to come back in September and finish her Computing course before looking into careers in industry.
Amelia, English and Maths GCSE
Amelia achieved a Grade 4 in her GCSE Maths and an amazing Grade 6 in English. She has been one of our most dedicated students, juggling her studies alongside her role as Student Union President!
Her tutor Luke said of her achievement: “Amelia has worked exceptionally hard this year and made the decision to jump from Level 1 Functional Skills to GCSE Mathematics. This grade is even more amazing as she has worked hard on top of all her other duties such as running a hobby club, learning to drive and being student president.”
Sasha, English and Maths GCSE
After studying with us, Sasha is looking forward to her next steps in Public Services, which she is studying at Level 3 at MidKent College.
Callum, Maths GCSE
Callum always made the most out of any time he spent in the classroom, particularly when it came to preparing for the GCSE Maths exams. However, his determination has paid off. He has now achieved a Grade 4 in Maths, and he is very proud of the result.
Daniel, Maths GCSE
Daniel achieved a Grade 5 in Maths and will continue to use his skills to take on complex projects, as well as work towards his savings goal.
Having completed over 260 additional hours of learning on Hegarty Maths, with 6000+ questions answered, it’s no surprise Daniel achieved so well.
Hannah, English and Maths GCSE
Through hard work and extra time spent every week on English and Maths, Hannah has achieved Level 1, 2 and GCSE in the time spent with us. She has passed both today – congratulations Hannah!
As well as GCSE results, students from across the East Kent Colleges group have been collecting their results in Level 2 and Functional Skills programmes.
Congratulations to all of you who got the grades you wanted. We are looking forward to welcoming those of you who are joining us in September.
