After two years of experimentation and creating designs for family and friends, Creative Media student, Craig, recently took his business public with help from fellow Creative Media student, James Barrett, at EKC Canterbury College’s inaugural Christmas Market.

Selling a range of fidget toys and character figurines including, gingerbread people and dragons, Craig’s 3D printed creations proved a hit with market visitors.

a college student speaks to member of the public about his 3D printer.

Speaking about how he prepared for his first event, Craig said: “I was just printing batch after batch, over and over. Some of the designs take a long time. The dragons take 10 hours, and you can only fit one of these in the printer at a time!”

Looking ahead, Craig hopes to take his business further, saying: “the next step for the business to grow is to start modelling my own prints, create unique designs that no one else has done before. I’d like to create interesting problem-solving items

“I could even turn this into a career, if I can think of enough imaginative designs that people are interested in!”

Congratulations on your first professional event Craig, we are really proud of your hard work and dedication. We wish you every success in the future with Penguin Patrol’s Printed Perfections. Remember us when you are sat in front of Lord Alan Sugar!
