Kerry Longman
Kerry’s Further Education (FE) career began in 2005 when she became a Lecturer, teaching across multiple campuses. Since then, she has built extensive experience within the sector, working for South Kent College, K College, West Kent College and Ashford College, which became part of East Kent Colleges Group in 2021.
Throughout her career, Kerry has progressed through a range of leadership positions including Programme Director, Deputy Head of Department, and Head of Department, and says in her new role as Deputy Principal, she will be able to combine her experience of curriculum leadership, quality improvement and people management with a broader strategic influence across the College.
Kerry decided to pursue the role of Deputy Principal at EKC Sheppey College after feeling it presented an exciting opportunity to make a wider strategic impact on learners, staff, and the local community.
Throughout her career in FE, Kerry has been passionate about improving learner outcomes, developing curriculum quality, and ensuring that students receive an outstanding educational experience – all aspects that she hopes to bring into her role as Deputy Principal.
Kerry feels that EKC Sheppey College’s commitment to raising aspirations, supporting social mobility, and meeting the needs of the local community strongly aligns with her own values and is motivated by the opportunity to work collaboratively with staff, students, employers and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, strengthen outcomes and contribute to the ongoing success of the College. She looks forward to the opportunity to make a wider impact across the whole College.
